- The “From Humboldt to Haiti” earthquake relief benefit will take place at the Bayside Grange on Friday, February 5 from 6 p.m. to midnight. The event includes performances by Kulica, Lila Nelson, Greg Lojko (of the Bad Lilas), and possibly other guest performers.
Blackberry Bramble BBQ and Catering will provide BBQ and other dishes for sale beginning at 6 pm, including vegetarian options. Local wine from Moonstone Crossing and beer from Mad River and Six Rivers Breweries will also be available for sale.
Tickets for the event will be sold at the door and cost $10 for adults, $5 for those under 18. Kids under 12 get in free. The Bayside Grange is located at 2297 Jacoby Creek Road in Bayside, near the intersection with Old Arcata Road.
Silent auction and raffle items are being collected and volunteers are needed. Anyone with items, services, or time to donate can call Kate Martin at (707) 362-6715.
From Humboldt to Haiti is being co-sponsored by the Bayside Grange, Blackberry Bramble BBQ and Catering, KSHU, KHUM, KSLG, the Point, and the Sound Pedaler.
All proceeds will be sent to four organizations who are helping those affected by the Haiti Earthquake, including Partners in Health, Aid to Artisans, Lamp for Haiti, and InterNews.
